What are theTANF Programs?
Marriage Works! Ohio TANF programs are a series of relationship classes and mentoring. The funding for these classes is provided by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. If you qualify for these classes, you may attend at no cost to you.
Who are the TANF programs for?
The TANF programs are for anyone who is eligible. To be eligible, you must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and have a child or currently be pregnant. In general, if you are receiving food assistance or are insured through Medicaid, you will qualify.
What is The Process Like?
The qualification process is pretty simple! First, fill out the online form and submit it. Next, someone from our office will review your form to make sure you are eligible. Finally, we will contact you via phone call, text message, or email whether you are eligible or not to discuss your options.
Step 1: Fill out the TANF-eligibility form
The form will ask you basic information such as your name, address, and contact information. You will also need to submit your income information and the names and ages of your children.
Step 2: Submit the form to be reviewed
Once you submit the finished form, one of our staff members will review it. We will check to make sure you qualify for the TANF programs based on income and other factors.
Step 3: Wait for one of our staff members to contact you
Whether you qualify for our TANF programs or not, one of our staff members will contact you. This may be via phone call, text message, or email.
Step 4: If you’re eligible, attend one of our classes!
If your eligibility form is approved, you will be able to attend one of our relationship classes at no cost to you.
Step 5: If you’re not eligible, we can still help!
If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, you still have options. We also offer these classes at affordable rates for you to consider as well as couples counseling.
